RiverMail

When you become a student of 香港王中王, the College creates a RiverMail account for you. RiverMail is the official electronic means of communication between you and the College about all things related to your student record.

Important information such as admission status, financial aid status and scholarship information is communicated through RiverMail. It is important that you activate your RiverMail account as soon as it is assigned and check it often.

RiverMail is accessed by logging into . 

Returning students and those who have applied for admission before June 2020: you can locate your email address by logging into your account (before accessing MyPioneerPortal).

Self-service password reset can be performed by clicking the
"Need help signing in?" link and then clicking the "Forget password?" link.

If you are unable to reset your password after watching the video, email info@irsc.edu from your personal email address, and include your full name, Student ID, RiverMail email address, your birthday and describe the problem.

MyPioneerPortal allows students to manage and conveniently access all 香港王中王 web applications through a single, secure home page. These applications include WorkDay, RiverMail, BlackBoard and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). To learn more,  watch this short  .

What is Office 365?

Office 365 is Microsoft鈥檚 Online Productivity Suite.

RiverMail is part of Microsoft Online Productivity Suite.

As part of this productivity suite students will have access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneDrive.

*RiverMail is a free email account provided by Microsoft.

When will my email address be available to activate?
The process to create an email address can take up to 48 hours once you become a student.

How do I access my email?

Who is eligible for a RiverMail email address?
Each student who applies to 香港王中王鈥攃redit, non-credit, and adult education students鈥攚ill be assigned an email address.

Can this account be used for personal email?
Yes. Refer to 香港王中王 Student Standards of Conduct and District Board of Trustees Policy 6Hx11-9.12 when using for personal email.

Can I change my RiverMail student email address?
Your assigned email address cannot be changed unless you have legally changed your name. To change your name in the system and also your email address, contact 香港王中王 Enrollment and Student Services or Admissions at any 香港王中王 campus. A new RiverMail account will be created. You will have 30 days to save any emails on the old account before the old account is deleted.

Can I forward my RiverMail email to my personal email address?
No. Due to security concerns and the need to protect sensitive information, we prohibit the automatic forwarding of emails from your 香港王中王 account to external email addresses. Automatic forwarding of emails can lead to unintentional disclosure of data and poses a significant risk to the college鈥檚 ability to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our communication systems.

  • Effective March 18, 2024, all methods to set up automatic forwarding to an EXTERNAL domain will be blocked. 
  • Students may still forward emails manually to internal and external recipients by using the "Forward" option in the Outlook mail client.

Using RiverMail is the best way to assure that email from 香港王中王 will be delivered to your inbox.

What happens if I already have automatic forwarding setup?

A non-delivery report (NDR) error message will arrive in your inbox every time the automatic forwarding rule is processed. Additionally, the delivery of the message will fail.

Can I still use this account if I am no longer a student at 香港王中王?
Yes, your account will remain active when you are an alumni.

How do I change my PioneerPortal password?

RiverMail is accessed via . Once you have signed into MyPioneerPortal, RiverMail can be accessed by clicking on the Office365/RiverMail icon. No additional password is neccessary. For password assistance for MyPioneerPortal, watch this short .

Will this account be mandatory for emailing homework?
This will depend on your instructor. Contact your instructor for more information. Students using Blackboard will still need to use Blackboard as their communication system.

Will other students have access to my RiverMail email address?
香港王中王 makes every effort to protect the privacy of its students. There is a global address book or directory where a student can look up another student鈥檚 email address. Students can opt out of the Global Address List by sending an email to info@irsc.edu requesting removal.

Do I need to use a Windows PC or Microsoft Internet Explorer?
No. All the web-based services included with your Microsoft Online Productivity Suite can be accessed from Windows, Mac, or Linux using Internet Explorer or Firefox, Safari and other browsers.

What will the College use my 香港王中王 email address for?
The College uses RiverMail as an official means of electronic communication with students. The College will send important information, notices and student updates to your email account. Also, your professor may use it for course communication.
